The Holy Ale...

So, for part of my final module i have teamed up with two great fellow students, Esme and Mark, to work on a live brief creating a brand, logo and overall campaign for a new ale company:

The Andalucian Brewing Co.

They are a two man duo (consisting of an Uncle and a Nephew), both from the seaside town of Brighton, who have set up camp in Cadiz, Southern Spain brewing ale in a hand built shed in the garden!! This is a live brief that we will use towards our final degree show and ultimately our final degree grades (so it's a pretty big deal!!). We also have to keep the clients happy which is proving tricky at times but we seem to be succeeding!

Andalucia in southern Spain is renowned for its beautiful Andalucian horses:

And this is what the client wants to incorporate within their main logo. We also need to create four different identities for the four different ales they will eventually brew, this being based around a horse, a bull, a mosquito and a stork (all common creatures found in the south region of Spain).

It's early days but we've done extensive research into other great ale brands to get inspiration and our well on our way to producing a masterpiece...

I'll keep you updated!

The world domination of the golden arches...

O.K... so for my dissertation I'm researching:

"Should cultural differences affect advertising communications"

A simple enough question with heaps of information and resources. Im really getting into the research but after a long stretch of reading I am finding any excuse to walk around the house or make a cuppa or write a blog just to avoid the inevitable! However, it truly does interest me and for the case study im focusing on the golden arch that we all know and love...

McDonalds have restaurants and drive thru's and outlets in 119 different countries, which for a company that began when two brothers invested into their small dream, it is quite impressive! The intriguing thing about McD's is the ability they have to adapt and change within any culture or country they set up camp in and please everyone. This in turn gives them longevity and great consumer loyalty!

Anywho... if anyone has any pictures or information about McDonalds from anywhere in the world pleeeease let me know and i will be eternally greatful!

Peace out.

Its been far too long...

It seems like forever and a day since i last blogged... i hope all my followers are fine and dandy!

Things have been a tad crazy in the world of The Hungry Graduate, and it doesnt seem like things will slow down anytime soon. I have just returned from an epic weekend trip in Sweden! It was my dear friend Dario Darnell's 21st birthday and his lovely and ever so kind dad (Kid Creole for any of you old enough to be fans!) let us crash his beautiful Swedish house!

I have never seen so much snow in my life and it made it even more beautiful! I made loads of new buddies, and even managed to converse with fellow advertising people! The advertising over there is so unusual, i noticed a lot of copy based campaigns especially in English which would seem strange in a foreign country as here in the UK we rarely embrace different cultures within our advertising. Overall it was an amazing experience and id love to revisit in the summer time when there wasnt mounds of snow up to my thighs!

Heres to more regular blogging dear friends,
